What is the average class size?
Our class size, throughout the school, averages nine students to one classroom teacher. Additional staff,
such as music and French teachers, make this 9:1 ratio even lower. Classroom sizes range from a small Kindergarten
of 12 students with a teacher and an assistant to a multi-aged third through fifth grade class with 22 students
and 2.5 classroom teachers.

How many adults are in each class?
We assign a teacher and an assistant to each Pre-School and Kindergarten class and at least two certified teachers
to each of the Montessori and older classes.

If my child is in the same classroom for more than one year, will (s)he simply learn the same things over and over again?
No. In the multi-graded classrooms of the Primary School, we have a rotating curriculum, where the children stay put,
but the curriculum changes. One big advantage to having children with the same teachers for two or three years is that
the teachers know each child’s learning style.

Does my child need to bring lunch, or does the school supply it?
The school provides cold milk or juice to accompany bagged lunches brought from home. Several times a week, at an additional
cost, the Parent Teacher Group arranges to have a simple lunch provided for those who wish to have it.

What is the procedure for dropping-off and picking-up my child at school?
In the morning, cars form a double line down the school driveway. School staff members are there to greet children and take
them from their cars 15 minutes before class begins. If a child arrives after the school doors are closed, the parent or
caregiver is expected to park the car and walk the child to the classroom. Rember to park in a spot or along the island side, one lane must always remain open.
At dismissal time, cars again form a double line in the school driveway. Parents or caregivers display the child’s name
in a prominent place, and children are escorted to the cars by the school staff.
