Young World Day Camp — eight weeklong sessions for both full- and half-day campers — is designed for children 3 to 7 and offers age-appropriate activities
promoting summer fun with physical, art, and social activities. The stimulating programs,
caring counselors, and limited enrollment at our air-conditioned facility all add up to a summer
your child is bound to remember!
- Arts & Crafts. Every day, campers design and create a new, three-dimensional craft — each relating to the theme of the week.
- Swimming Lessons. Under the direction of a Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor and a lifeguard, campers 3 and up are taught to swim with safety and security — all within the confines of our new heated, fully fenced-in swimming pool.
- Special Events. Each week, campers participate in a theme-related special event. These special events are camp-wide, with everyone taking part. Campers will experience parades, a carnival, special guests, and a beach party.
- Outdoor Recreation. Campers enjoy hours of fresh-air play on our outdoor equipment. Situated on a surface that provides maximum safety, our equipment features slides, and lots of things to climb on, age-appropriate swings — as well as a large fenced-in playfield, an over-sized shaded sandbox, and a paved area for riding toys.
- Outdoor Physical Movement. Each day, campers will be able to participate in directed, age-appropriate physical movement on our lower playing field. This structured time may include basic sports, parachute play, movement with bubbles, and more.
- Rainy Day Programs. On days when the weather won't cooperate, campers may enjoy painting, cooking, physical movement, movies, crafts, or games. Swimming lessons will still occur on days with "light rain."
- Camp Hours/Sessions. For your convenience, Young World Day Camp's program runs for eight weeks. Campers are invited to join in full or half-day sessions. Daily sessions begin at 9:00 am and end at 4:00 pm. Half-day sessions are from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Extended care is available from 8:00 am — 9:00 am and 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
- Lunch and Refreshments. The all-day campers bring their own soft "bag" lunch. Juice is provided at lunchtime. Mid-morning
and mid-afternoon snacks of fruit juice and crackers are served to all campers.
- Camp Dress. All campers receive two Young World Day School tee shirts and a backpack. Tee shirts or polo shirts, shorts
and sneakers are recommended dress for comfort and freedom of movement.
- Health and Safety. Our full-time directors are certified by the American Red Cross to administer standard first aid in
the event of minor injury or accident. A physician and hospital staff are on call for emergencies.
Please note that all children must be toilet trained to attend Young World Day School Day Camp. No pull-ups are allowed.
